Alejandro Sosnik – Meet the Team
Recently, a new member joined our team. We’re so grateful to have such an awesome crew!!. It’s a pleasure to introduce one of our new team members, Alejandro Sosnik, Gate2Brain’s new Nanotech Advisor.
Alejandro Sosnik has more than 30 years of research experience. He specializes in biomaterials for drug delivery and tissue engineering, focusing on polymer and macromolecular chemistry and drug and polymer self-assembly. His work involves designing nanoparticles for drug encapsulation and developing nanobiomaterials for cancer therapy. Currently at Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, he leads projects involving the synthesis, characterization and application of polymeric and hybrid ceramic/polymeric nanoparticles and their assessment in in vitro and in vivo disease models. Over the last years, he introduced a novel family of hybrid nano-sonosensitizers for the actively targeted sonodynamic therapy of solid tumors.
✅At Gate2Brain, his responsibility encompasses giving advice on the physicochemical and structural characterization of G2B-002, a novel anticancer nanoformulation for the therapy of brain tumors, toward its translation into the clinic. Alejandro was actively involved in the design and development of this actively targeted nanoformulation produced by a unique self-assembly approach.
✅ What are his hobbies and interests?
Swimming is almost like breathing for him. He aims to swim every day when he’s not traveling, which is another one of his passions, especially with his wife and kids. He particularly enjoys traveling in the Far East
✅ What does he like about the Gate2Brain project?
One of his professional dreams since his undergraduate Pharmacy studies at the University of Buenos Aires has been to bring innovative solutions to treat human disease and since he started an independent scientific career has devoted many efforts to overcome hurdles in the therapy of pediatric disease. The Gate2Brain project is the conjunction of all these goals, he believes that the Gate2Brain platform can lead to a breakthrough in the treatment of brain tumors and is extremely motivated to actively participating and contributing to its success.
✅ A surprising fact about him!
He loves music, especially Rock & Pop. As a teenager, he used to attend every concert in his hometown, Buenos Aires. Some of the most memorable ones include The Cure, Sting, Peter Gabriel, Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, INXS, Prince, Joe Cocker, Roxette, and Paul Simon. Lately, he traveled with his family to the Coldplay concert at the Olympic Stadium in Athens.
🌱Great assets have joined Gate2Brain’s journey!
Alejandro, welcome to the Gate2Brain family!
