Joan Negrescolor wins Junceda Award for G2B’s 5th anniversary illustrations 2026

Junceda Award in the Advertising category, recognising the artistic work behind a visual narrative of our first five years.

In 2025, Gate2Brain celebrated its fifth anniversary with a special creative project: a collection of five limited-edition illustrated prints, each dedicated to one year of the company’s journey.

Created in collaboration with Barcelona-based illustrator Joan Negrescolor, the collection combined illustration and storytelling to revisit the milestones, challenges and people that shaped Gate2Brain’s first five years. Through his distinctive artistic language, Negrescolor brought a new visual perspective to our story, translating five years of scientific ambition, entrepreneurship, perseverance and collaboration into a series of expressive and evocative illustrations.

A recognition of illustration and storytelling

Joan Negrescolor has been awarded the 2026 Junceda Award in the Advertising category for the illustrations created for Gate2Brain’s fifth anniversary project.

Organised by the Associació Professional d’Il·lustradors de Catalunya (APIC), the Junceda Awards recognise excellence in illustration across different creative disciplines.

For Gate2Brain, this recognition is particularly meaningful because it celebrates a creative collaboration that gave a new visual dimension to the story of our first five years.

Creativity has always been part of Gate2Brain’s journey. It is present in the way we approach scientific challenges, explore new possibilities and navigate the uncertainties of entrepreneurship. For our fifth anniversary, creativity found another form of expression through Joan Negrescolor’s illustrations, offering an artistic interpretation of the ideas, experiences and milestones that have shaped our first five years.
